  1. Degree name
    The degree program described herein shall be called bachelor of Secondary Education major in English(BSEd-English)
  2. Nature of the Field Study
    The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) major in English is an undergraduate teacher education program designed to equip learners with adequate and relevant learning competencies to teach English in the secondary level.
  3. Degree/ Program Goals
    The BSEd major in English program aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for English language and literature teaching.

Program Learning Outcomes (2024-2025)

After finishing the program, the pre-service teacher will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate in-depth technology, pedagogy and content knowledge of language and literature for effective teaching.
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in English both in oral and written as a global language in a multilingual context as it applies to the teaching of language and literature.
  3. Demonstrate extensive reading background in language, literature, and allied fields.
  4. Employ innovative language and literature teaching approaches, methodologies, assessment, strategies, and ICT.
  5. Collaborate with students and experts to lead relevant and transformative changes to improve learning and teaching language and literature.
  6. Display skills and abilities to be a reflective, ethical, and research-oriented language and literature teacher.
