The degree program described herein shall be called bachelor of Secondary Education major in Religious and Values Education (BSEd-Religious and Values Education)

 

Nature of the Field of Study

The Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) major in Religious and Values Education is an undergraduate teacher education program designed to equip learners with adequate and relevant learning competencies to teach Religion and Values Education in the secondary level.

 

Degree / Program Goals

The BSEd major in Social Studies program aims to develop highly motivated and competent teachers specializing in the content and pedagogy for Religion and Values Education teaching.

Program Learning Outcomes (2024-2025)

After finishing the program, the students will be able to:

  1. Articulate an in-depth understanding of various philosophical and theoretical underpinnings of teaching religious and values education in developing and using traditional and non-traditional strategies for assessing learner’s performance and integrating context appropriate technology to optimize teaching and learning.
  2. Manifest commitment to promote community service, and social values by becoming an exemplar of Filipino values, advocating peace, social justice, respect for human rights, and sound ethical and moral decision.
  3. Possess competence in employing gospel values using various pedagogical approaches; methods and techniques for teaching and strategies for effective intra and interpersonal skills principles in their decisions and actions as religious and values education teachers.
